How to enable God Mode in Windows 7

GodMode is a hidden developer shortcut in Windows 7 that provides users with direct access to useful tools for maintaining a computer.

Some of the tools provided through the GodMode shortcut include:

  • Changing User Account settings
  • Restoring a computer to an earlier time
  • Defragmenting a hard drive
  • Adjusting screen resolution and setting
  • Connecting a projector or external monitor
  • Viewing network settings
  • Changing the desktop background

There are many other tools that are available through GodMode and although they can be accessed via the Control Panel, GodMode brings them all together in one convenient location.

To setup GodMode in Windows 7

Create a new folder where you want the GodMode folder to be. For example: right-click on the Desktop and select New and then click Folder.

Rename the new folder you have just created GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
